Title: computer services
Post by: unlovedwarrior on September 21, 2006, 12:36:25 PM
ok I'm really good at powerPoint. I was just wondering if you guys think it would be a good idea to make like a small business out of it.

just a PowerPoint = $15

PowerPoint + research = $25

PowerPoint + research + note cards or note card layout = $30 or $35

can i have as many comments and suggests as possible.

for now this would be just a local business. and as time goes on I'll expand my services

I'd stop by a few computer stores and have a look around, if they have any LCD monitors in display you should tell 'm you could build a nice powerpoint presentation for them to run on those computers.

I think your prices are reasonable, but I doubt there is a lot of demand. Do you have any qualifications when it concerns Microsoft Office? ECDL, perhaps?

I don't know, if people are completely ignorant to anything Powerpoint related they're decent prices, but anyone who can run the Powerpoint wizard will probably think twice before hiring you.

Unless you've got a lot of experience with marketing, people probably will find it experience. But that shouldn't stop you from trying, though. Perhaps you'll get a lucky break. Try contacting stores, because they will want new presentations for products on sale.. And perhaps busy salesmen who need to present things but haven't got the time to build a presentation themselves.

I doubt College kids have anything to pay. Try a more professional approach, speak to store owners and salesmen.

Or check around locally with a presentation proposal in mind and shop the competition and see what their rates are...this is how hookers do it.     :-[

Absolutely !!!  Get with an older person (u can trust) get as much advice as possible, look into and study small business  ; do's & don'ts , find someone in your local area through a friend if possible who is good at Marketing*.
Get very knowledgable and thorough in what you want to do and accomplish then see if someone in Marketing "might" be able to help u. Thats a great capitalist idea,  keep America rolling!  PS..  don't outsource to India & China when u make it big!

Powerpoint skills will count for virtually nothing.  Design skills are far more important (I don't have 'em).  If you can create BEAUTIFUL or INNOVATIVE presentations, then you may have a future in the design media.  At which point you'll be using something much more sophisticated than Powerpoint...

Any type of presentation requires you to understand how you can influence people with colours and figures.. I suggest you look at a lot of advertisements that are catchy before you build anything to show to potentional customers.

It's not that bad, the information seems good, but you need to learn to work with different colours and shapes to make it look more attractive.

What kind of presentations do you want to build, anyway?

I don't know, it depends on what you want to show. Powerpoint is for building presentations, flash can be used for nearly everything but people do need a flash player. You have a powerpoint viewer for most systems which you can download for free from Microsoft.com
