Title: Making a mountain out of a molehill
Post by: Raith on September 23, 2006, 07:13:40 PM
Hi again, it's everybody's favorite newbie. I have a new dilemna, did I spell it right? I'd hope so! Anyway, whenever I minimize or maximize a folder, IE, a sound like 'Doot' comes up. However, it doesn't always do this, I was wondering why? Thanks guys! It's not speaker problem because I turned it off and it does it, too.

What does 'Doot' mean?  :-?

Try setting your Windows sound configuration: Start -> Settings -> Configuration -> Sounds and Audio Devices -> Sounds tab

A dilemma is a problem offering two solutions, neither of which is acceptable. :-?

Go to control panel double click Accessibility Options-Is there a check mark in 'Use ToggleKeys'if so uncheck it.

What does "Doot" mean?LOL

If your computer Doots a lot see page 5 of LOL -manual :-? :-? :-?

Critical Stop may be the Doot sound.

The Muppet Show Tune was kinda hummed out loud with a constant repetition
of Doot.

Manah Manah also used it.

Maybe the doot came from Mario? Who knows, anyway, none of this worked, maybe when I mute my speakers and minimize something, it acts as though the processor is the speaker? I don't know.

Try setting your Windows sound configuration: Start -> Settings -> Configuration -> Sounds and Audio Devices -> Sounds tab
What version of Windows are you referring to?  My Win XP Pro shows Start, Control Panel, Sounds and Audio Devices;  no "Settings" or "Configuration" in that sequence.

Raith, have you actually gone to Start, Control Panel, Sounds and Audio Devices?  That panel allows assigning sounds to many things, including Minimize and Maximize.  Does it show them as having a sound associated with them?

Do you mean the  My Doom Virus (http://technology.ohio.edu/support/virus/mydoom.html)?  Google isn't finding much on the Doot virus.
