Title: Motherboard Won't Detect CD-Drive and Harddrive.
Post by: Quickster on September 25, 2006, 11:44:01 PM
I just got a new Hard-drive to install into my computer.  This is the first time I've ever had this kind of problem.  My motherboard runs the CD-drive and the Harddrive fine by them selves.  But as soon as I plug in either with an IDE cable or power cable niether of hte devices work properly.

The jumpers are most likely not set to Master/Slave.

Make the HDD Master and the CD-ROM Slave. Instructions are printed on top of the HDD and CD-ROM.

Or run them both as Master on separate IDE channels for best results.  ;)
