Recently my Motherboard died so i bought a new one and replaced it, now my computer won't start up. The motherboards are both L7VMM model, though they are slightly different, also at the time of upgrading the motherboard I upgraded the processor from an AMD 1600+ to a AMD 2200+
Please help.

With the lack of information, the only conclusion could be a) bad board, or b) bad build.
Any more details would probably help get some ideas.

"Slightly" different?
That may not mean a lot to you, but it means a lot to Windows.

It's an Emachines build C1641, all original except for the new motherboard and ram
New MoBo is a L7VMM
found the motherboard auto-install cd lol, that might be enough to fix it. if it doesn't work i'll be back with more specs thanks all

KK, looked at stuffs, PC still won't start up, it powers up and everything seems torun normally, but doesn't show POST and doesn't beep. The new motherboard is a L7VMM3 v.3 is what it said on the motherboard, the old one just said L7VMM v1.0. any other questions about the specs i'll find as you ask because i really don't know what to look for lol

Try resetting the BIOS.
Boot with minimal hardware attached.

I'm willing to give it a try, do you know where i could find the right jumper on the L7VMM3 motherboard?

Google your heart out.....
New mobo & no manual - go download the .pdf version here. (http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWeb/Downloads/ProductsDetail_Download.aspx?DetailID=481&DetailName=Manual&DetailDesc=L7VMM3(V3.0c)&MenuID=0&LanID=0)

Just remove the battery for 10 seconds when the PC is powered down.
