Title: Computer Acting Funny
Post by: Mountaindew7782 on September 23, 2004, 05:43:50 PM
I got up this morning and turned on my monitor and found that my computer had restarted in the middle of the night. Except that it hadnt finished the booting process. At the bottom of the screen it said " Media Test Failure, Check Cable. DISKBOOT FAILURE, INSTERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER. I turned my computer off and unplugged the ide cable attched to my hard drive then plugged it back in. My computer started up fine. I decided to run Ad-Ware and scan my pc for virus's while I was at school. I get home and my computer had restarted with the same message. I got into my bios and my hard drive isnt showing up. So I unplug the ide cable and plug it back in and everthing starts fine. What could the problem be? I have a 120 GB Maxtor HD and 256 Ram 900MHZ Windows XP Pro.
