req:64 meg ram
150 meg hd space
windows 98se
pentium III 500 mhz
here's what i have
512 meg ram
plenty of hd space
windows 98 ( maybe not SE)
Pentium II ~350 mhz
do you guys think this will work on my antiquated pc?

From the specs I would say no. What do you think?

well, i was kinda hoping the extra ram would offset the mhz i'm down.. guess not,. *censored*

And the type of processor (not just speed) and perhaps a compatible operating system....

The OS would be the barrier really.
I don't really see the CPU holding you back, is there a reason why it would?
But the OS would stop you right there anyway.
There may be a way round, but it's not really worth the hassle.
Just take it back.

I would search around online and see if there's anything you can download to make it compatible with your OS. iPod isn't made to run with Windows 98, but there are a few programs out there that will make it work. Maybe you can get lucky and find something similar for your new MP3 player. But don't count on it. Oh, and next time, you might want to find all of this out before making a purchase. But at least you made a good call on not opening it yet.

Alright, I just looked on Google for a few minutes and found absolutely nothing. Looks like you're just gonna have to find yourself another model. Sorry.

To find out, try this:
Hold down the 'Windows' key. Tap the Pause key.
This is the quick way to bring up System Properties.
Four tabs - you want General . Mine is there when it comes up.
It tells you right there.
See attached .jpg . The top of it looks like that.
Let us know what it says there on your system.
I hope this helps.
