Title: Toshiba Satellite 1005-S157 Problem
Post by: ilikemycomputer on March 02, 2007, 04:03:44 PM
I have a Toshiba Satellite 1005-S157 that i accidentally dropped... When I plug it in and turn it on, the cooling fan in the back runs, but nothing appears on the screen. it appears the hard drive is working but the screen stays black. it doesn't boot up to BIOS. and it keeps giving 1 short beep about every 5 seconds. I've taken it apart and checked all the connections and they are good. If anyone has any suggestions PLEASE post.

Did you check the Toshiba site for what the beep code means yet?

Fwiw, on this page:
http://www.quepublishing.com/articles/article.asp?p=102215&seqNum=4&rl=1
your model number is said to have a Phoenix bios.
(Text search that page for          1005-S157         , and you'll find it.)

You said nothing appears on screen, and you couldn't find out anything about it on the Toshiba site - -   if it truly is a Phoenix bios,  then perhaps knowing this will help in tracking down what that beep
code means.
