Microsoft Corporation Microsoft Streets & Trips 2007 with GPS Locator 14.0.9
"well" its on that list of "works with Vista logo ........... ?
I must be doing something stupid wrong, I'll keep playing with it, thanks for all replies.....

Make a shotcut to the installer on your desktop, then right click on it and click Properties, then click the tab that says "Compatibility" and select Windows XP Service Pack 2.
Once the program is installed, do the same thing with the icon to Streets and Trips if it wont work in Vista.
This may fix the issue.

Yeah, I saw that option ("Compatibility" and select Windows XP Service Pack 2) it didn't work for me..... Thanks though

Well,
I have disabled the DEP procedure at Least 6 times since yesterday.
I added* to the allow programs to run list (streets & trips) setup-intall
about 4 times..........since yesterday
this morning, I turned off every security feature on this vista home premium...
firewall, I monitor security-not windows, viruses etc....
I completely unistalled the pre-loaded McCafee antivirus, & restarted maybe 4 times. It finally worked*.
I guess disabling all the security stuff helped...............?
ThANKS above for the ideas & help............. :)
