More info needed. ::) What model is it? You/we need to know. Was it new or used? What did you have before this card? How did the computer perform then, compared to now?
-
honestly i am not absolutely sure what model it is. i bought it new from froogle and the computer worked perfectly before the graphics card, there were no problems with video or anything until i put it in.
-
i got the model which is 6200
-
Who makes it ? ?
-
nvidia geforce. nvidia is the manufacturer right
-
NVidia Driver Link (http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp)
-
i know i have tried those but they didnt help

Those? Uh, there's only one that applies for Win XP for your card: http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_93.71.html. Is that what you tried?
Did you get a CD with the video card? Did you try using it instead of a download from nVidia?
-
yeah at first i tried the cd but the video wouldnt play so i installed the ones from the site and the problem persisted.
-
Could it possibly be the videos themselves ? ?
How much RAM do you have ? ?
How much free space on that HDD ? ?
-
it cant because if i take the video card out then everything works perfectly
plenty of ram, 768 mb
and plenty of space, 180gb

i was thinking it might be the fact that when i uninstall the integrated video card in device manager everytime i restart the computer it finds the integrated one again (in the taskbar it says found new hardware). i needa find a way to make the computer not recognize the integrated one. idk how tho ??? :'(

This could quite possibly be what is causing the issue itself...don't uninstall it as it also relates to the MBoard chipset...
The card should override the onboard video. No need to uninstall...
-
Depending on your motherboard, you may need to take a specific action to disable onboard video. See How to Disable Onboard/Integrated Video On Your Computer (http://www.wikihow.com/Disable-Onboard/Integrated-Video-On-Your-Computer)
-
alright thanks. so far all i did was disable the device.
-
is there any universal way to uninstall ur integrated graphics card cuz this is really starting to piss me off
-
alright thanks. so far all i did was disable the device.
Exactly what do you mean? You disabled it in Device Manager or in the BIOS?
-
device manager. n the bios all i have is the option of switching the video adapter from agp to pci and i have no idea what difference that will make.
-
That setting is to set the BIOS to the actual type of card (AGP or PCI) you have installed. If your BIOS has no setting to disable onboard video and your motherboard has no jumper to disable it, I think you're going to have to live with this. If the only thing that annoys you is the appearance of that defunct display adapter in Device Manager, you really have no serious problem.
-
also the other problem is that i cant run any videos and upon trying to run a video it freezes. that would become very annoying
