They are gone,gone..

I want to see wangming back here . . . think he's busy with his new job at Tiscali though.
-
Wangming has asked me to keep in motion the holy phrase that kills the rabbit. Quote it and put it in your signature!
You can kick the case on you right hand side!To reset the keyboard in the service of word and the input of the fontt! You can find a reset option of keyboard in it!
Kick! KICK! KICK!!
Do you try to kill viurs of your system?May be it's the cause to make you screen hesitating! And anther way you can reformet you system,of course ,it is the worst way you choose!
Kill! KILL! KILL!!
-
And the ever popular "Run the kill".
-
I haven't seen Run The Kill! for sometime. ;D
-
CH has more than 40 registers a day and 80% of them register, post one question and leave for good, forgetting their post. 50% of those people remember their posts however and reply back in that single topic. 10% of those people that replied their topics also post inother topics.
Summing up, a lot of people register and forget
-
But this one has over 20 posts.
-
I am guessing he is one of those 10% guys....... i dunno
-
"Run the kill" had disappeared last time I looked.
He does have his email address shown though, anyone feel like mailing him and asking him back?

That's actually a good idea. Anyone who hasnt been online for 6 months and has more than say 10 posts and has their email address there, we can ask them back.
-
Most of those will have already sorted their original problem though.
I was just joking, although you could email him if you want.

Lol, I wasn't talking about me ::)

Its only April 16th and according to the forum stats, there are 672 731(April 16) 823(April 19) new registers so far this month :o
EDIT: Wow, more and more new registers. Interesting...

This is pretty accurate, many people that come to Computer Hope and the forums are looking for a single answer and not to participate on the forums. Often they'll register in hopes of just getting the question answered and often may not return because (I assume) they've found it elsewhere and/or were able to solve it themselves.
-
I think many of them want "instant gratification", ignoring the fact that this is strictly a volunteer endeavor.

Yes. I don't know why I keep hitting that button. :(
EDIT: It's because it's next to the navigation links. Computer Hope Forum >> Other >> Other >> Off topic >>
Well, the Sticky button's next to the Off Topic link.

I was like that at frist, i asked a question, got the question answered and stopped using CH for 2 weeks. Then i decided to get involved ;D

I can bet (no cash or anything) that there are going to be over 1100 new registers this month

I'd say you could lessen that amount by allowing people to surf the forum as a guest, but not respond as a guest? Unless it already works that way...
-
If you let guests be able to post or start topic, there is a high risk for spam spam spam.....

Must study the Spam thing....Nauga-Meat!
-
Guests are free to browse, I think it's good for any forum to at least allow that. Especially if you want search engines to index your forum. However, they cannot post. I originally wanted guests to do both and did initially do that, however lots of spam and trouble makers so no guest posting.
I've thought about creating one section of the board where guests can post, but keep talking myself out of it. ;)
-
Don't do that, I for one wouldn't want to be surrounded by.. shivers guests..

I wondered where naugahide came from. ;D
I was a guest poster for...ummmm.....a long time.

We remember...
-
Guest posting has its good sides, but the worst side is:
SPAM Bots that can get past the CAPATCHA images. (Obscufated images)
Then, there are abusers, who post and post.
Then there are the people that dont understand that its not an email system, but truth be told, a lot of the registered users think of it that way.
But you get more posts, and more users involved, and more people with a :) face
(but then again, the SPAM bots came with ;D 's on their non-existent faces...)
Being as literal as possible:
The more users, the busier I keep myself...
It is such a PAIN to register to websites. You always have to worry about Spam, and about keeping track of it, and logging in. Some people just come here once, and then leave. You could not just enable it on one newly created board, since it would not be categorized. (And there is enough non categorized problems already. It could be a guest board, and then if it gets approved, it can be moved out.)
There are LOT of things to consider....
-
as always trailing off topic in the off topic board lol...
ill email him
