Title: nvidia 8800 GTX
Post by: Pirate Satellite on April 16, 2007, 01:50:45 PM
Recently, I installed a new nvidia 8800 GTX and a few days later I started having trouble with the graphics in some games.  I play Oblivion and it works great but if I play SimCity 4 for images become distorted.  Does anyone have any idea what I should do.

System:
ATI motherboard produced for Hewlit Packard
AMD Athalon X2 3800
2 meg ram (3200)

Did you un-install the old drivers first ? ?

2Meg of RAM could cause this but i'm sure it's a typo as XP wouldn't run...

you're right 2 gig of ram.  No, I haven't unistalled old drivers yet, is that always necessary?

HP's have notoriously small power supplies. What is the wattage on yours and what does that card require?
