Title: Router
Post by: TomDavis on October 21, 2004, 04:21:20 PM
I just bought a lap top with wireless capatility and have hooked up a router to my DSL modem.  It works pretty well when I am in the same or an adjacent room with my laptop, but if I get a couple of rooms away, there is not enough signal.

Will it be a big problem to get a longer cable to go between my modem and my router so that I can move my router a couple of rooms over or onto my porch?

How long a cable?  I would recommend less than 33ft.  Why not move the modem and the router.  Wireless should be good for at least 100ft (supposed to be 300ft).
