My fire fox seems to have stopped spell checking.
if i look in the settings its still turned on.
I have been disabling startup programs to get things running smoothly.
any suggestions?

If this might be related to your other two topics on browser problems kindly list which extensions you currently have installed in FireFox as some of them do NOT get along...

I had a previouse problem with firefox resetting everytime i closed the browser, which required me to re name the file "search.sqlite"
This is the artical that helped me fix the problem

I have also created a new profile to use.

What is hug back? That doesn't come by default with FF.

Its a stupid facebook add on. i unistalled it and it hasn't affected it.

Go to about:Config and look in there.
Type "spellcheck" in the filter (Not the search function) and tell me what your values are set to.

Three things came up, the last one was in bold
extensions.spellcheck.inline.max-misspellings - Status: Default Type:integer Vaule: 500
layout.spellcheckDefault - Status:Default Type:integer Vaule: 1
spellchecker.dictionary - Status: User set Type : string Vaule: en-US

I did end a load of start up programs, could that have affected, are there any lexical programs or anything that i utilizes in the spell checking process?

No, it's really a feature that gets loaded when Firefox does. What did you remove?

and Wiki search
I don't really use any of the add ons

which i have since re installed. So that is the only one running atm

When the browser was *resetting and i had to alter the file name.
Which is still changed just random letters, i couldn't delet it...
sorry, the modification to a corrupt file i mentioned in an earlier post.

That was what i did to stop Firefox from resetting every time i closed it.

i've deleted the profiles.
uninstalled firfox.
Searched for anf mozzila or fire fox files and deleted all left over.
Then re installed firefox.
Same problem, everything is fine except the spell checker seems to be completely absent despite being turned on.

What add-on toolbars do you have installed on this machine ? ?
Yahoo
Google
etc.

Nothing insatalled at all.
No add ones at all now, only the default top right google search...
Is there an add on i can get for a spell checker?

Problem fixed.
Even wiping firefox completely didn't do it.
Deleted all dictionaries, for some reason English and Ukrainian was there. And install english as an Add on.
I can't thank you guys enough with helping me solve these problems.

Dictionary add-ons are like extensions...they all don't play nicely sometimes.
