The long-rumoured new instalment of Blizzard's massive StarCraft series is set to be unveiled later this month - and it's another massively-multiplayer online game in the style of World of Warcraft, CVG learns.

If true would be good and bad news for all us WOW addicts and/or StarCraft fans.

I like Starcraft, but I'm not sure I'd play an MMO version.

So is this going to be an MMORPG or a MMORTS?

Going to probably be MMORPG I'd imagine with RTS elements. But I couldn't see them doing a MMO like the traditional RTS games.

Sort of.
But you get guns and spaceships, tanks and stuff instead of swords and archers.
It's a fantastic game, you should really get it.
I picked up Starcraft and the expansion, Brood Wars, for about £5, so it's cheap too.

Not yet, but I anticipate soon, with how Blizzards website is changing daily showing you a time line of the history of their games each day.

I had a look on their website, couldn't find any reference to it.

Each day they're changing the main page of all Blizzard related pages to talk about a product they've done in the past. The *speculation* is that at the end of the product line will be the announcement of the next product (more than likely StarCraft MMO or StarCraft 2). Because today's splash screen is the introduction of WoW (2004) I think the announcement will be within the next day or so because apart from the expansion pack for WoW there has been no other games.
Examples of Blizzard splash pages, every Blizzard associated page has been having these splash pages over the last few days.

To be honest, I think it looks just like Starcraft .. It's just 3D this time, and the only 3D strategy game I ever liked was Battle Realms because it didn't confuse you with different camera positions or (too much) elevated terrain!
But maybe it'll be good. I hope they made the story line even better this time.. I am looking forward to playing Turret wars 3D. ;D

They used to be Starcraft maps with a lot of scripted events and the only thing they had in common with SC was that they used the same tile set...

Yeah That MMO buildup was crap, a lot of people were hoping for it. But now it just looks exactly like the 1st one with better graphics.
But ask yourself this
Does Starcraft Really need to focus on graphics? Or Gameplay?
IDC I always prefered WC3 because of the custom TD's
Anyways it was just my opinion. I did however enjoy Sunken TD and Turret Defence
Those were only 2 good games in sc.
But blizzard just cant be satisfied with the WoW Income so they have to make a new game.
IMO they should have made a Diablo MMO,

Warcraft and starcraft were RTS's and Diablo was their only RPG so technically that should be it.
But no they had to go with Warcraft :|
Would love to battle diablo instead of Onyxia
and all of the dragons are the same model, how lame.

I really like the idea of a Diablo MMO, I think that would be something more possible than a StarCraft MMO. REgarding only better graphics in StarCraft II, you should really check out the game play video it's MUCH more than just better graphics.
