Title: Added More RAM Computer Says I Am Limited To 256MB Of RAM-SOLVED
Post by: thebigman103 on May 19, 2007, 03:17:20 PM
I Have A Dell Dimension 3000 With Two Slots To Add Ram. When I Added A New Stick Of 128MB And Turned The Computer Back On The First Thing That Pops Up Is Computer Is Limited To 256MB Of RAM Press F1 To Continue F2 To Go To Computer Setup. I Have Been Wanting To Add More RAM To This Computer For Some Time. Is There Anything That Can Be Done To Fix This Problem? Any Help Would Be Appreciated.

                  Thanks,
                    -Matt :)

And this will help even more:

http://www.crucial.com/store/listparts.aspx?model=Dimension+3000

Pay attention to where it says:

If you receive a "Memory available limited to 256MB!" message after installing more than 256MB, enter BIOS and turn OS Install to OFF. Exit saving changes.
