Does it happen both on battery power and A.C. ? ?
If so it is most likely a heat issue...
How old is the battery ? ?

If the CPU fan is shot, it will over heat quickly.
-
well i hear the fan running i was thinking of getting a can of air and cleaning the fans.

That's a cheap fix if that is the problem. Be sure and do it properly. Don't spin the blades as fast as you can.

He never did say it happened when on battery of plugged in or both ways.
Sounds to me like it is a weak battery and it is set up with desktop settings and not notebook settings, which explain why it would just shut off without warning.
Lets us know, it does make a difference ;)
