Title: mouse malfunctions

highlighting won't stick
highlighting grayish & sometimes won't delete
you can drag but you cannot drop
cursor causes page to jump around
 
 ???

what's wrong & how can i get these things to work again!

What type of mouse ? ?
Wired or wireless ?
What OS are you running ? ?
How old is it ? ?
Have you tried re-installing the drivers ? ?

First, open it up and clean it out very thoroughly.  If it still gives you trouble, try replacing it, as it may have simply gone bad.  They're fairly cheap.
