The Poll is currently tied in a dead heat...hurry and vote often as they say in Chicago....

Lets try to clear up some of this.

My hard disk is a Maxtor.
The setup detected it but when I rebooted at (mr) DOS,  can't see my hard disk.
Also under windows I can't see it (maybe he can't see the icon in My Computer)

I want to see it in (mr) DOS or Windows.
What can I do?

Hmm....more info  :o

Has the drive been formatted ? ?
It needs to be before Windows will recognise it.
Use the utility CD from Maxtor that shipped with the drive or DLoad their drive utilities (free) from their site.

Is this the only HDD in the system?  If so, the jumpers should be set to master or cable select.  If not then the jumpers should be set to slave or cable select.  Also, if there's more than one HDD, are they both on the same IDE cable?

Also, try booting from your windows CD, see if setup recognizes the HDD.  You can format it from there if need be.
