Title: multiple svchost.exe processes
Post by: dhinds on June 29, 2007, 05:39:30 PM
I know svchost.exe is a vital system process but do I need so many of them running at the same time. I have 5 files by that name running in the Task Manager but they all have different Memory Usage ranging from 44K to 17,872K. Can any one tell me what they all are for.

svchost runs services on your computer. Multiple instances of this process running is normal. Unfortunatly, task manager doesn't tell us exactly which services each of them is running.
