Ya on my desktop you can see like the shortcut to the program but not the little picture
EX. my computer has a little computer, my documents has folder
i am running windows xp home edition sp2
-
Could you perhaps provide a screenshot to give us a better idea?
-
Is this for all icons or shortcuts (please specify).
What Operating System is this?
If it's for shortcuts, make sure the path exists. If it does exist but the icon is wrong, delete that shortcut and recreate it by right clicking on the original file and click 'send to desktop'. This will create a shortcut to the file.
If it isn't too much trouble, post a picture for us to have a look at.

Small picture but I can tell all your shortcut icons are missing...
-
Yes, small picture, but I see what you mean now.
Althought the icons have changed, do the shortcuts still work?
How long has this been happening?
What changes have you made recently? Did you install anything before this happened?
Have you tried using System Restore?
What protection do you have?
-
