I saw a poll on steam stating how many users have Vista and it was about 7% so i'm wondering if people are going to install Vista so they can utilize DX10 on games like Crisis, Team Fortress 2 or Half Life 2 Episode 2 or if theyre going to use XP and hope for a DX10 patch or not care about DX10 at all.

I will get vista when i get a extra gb of ram in my computer , but right no i dont thnik it would be wise....but direct x 10 is pretty sweet.
Vista is a bit pricey 2 ::)

I got it but i have no games that actually use dx10 maybe someday when WoW patches up to it lol
-

-
You can still run DX10 supported games on DX9, so. Still, it'd be sweet if it came out on XP. :D
-

Vista came preinstalled on my laptop and DX10 runs things nicely.
Only problem with Vista is that it doesn't run some of the older games as well, but that's what XP on my desktop is for. :D

Halo 2 is going to come out for XP. I don't have the link with me but if you search 'Halo 2 for XP' in Google, you will see several news articles.
-
You've just made my day a whole lot better... lol I have been waiting and waiting for Halo 2 to come out for PC. (I don't have an Xbox) But when I saw it was for Vista I was heartbroken. Thanks for the encouragement Carbon Dudeoxide! ;D
-
Lol, no problem. I just can't wait for it now that I know it's coming out for XP.
-
You and me both. I googled "Halo 2 for XP" and found a website that claims that if you buy the game from them they will send you the XP patch along with it... www.fallingleafsystems.com They said it was supposed to be ready sometime in July. Not exactly sure when though. I'm excited!! ;D

Got Vista with my new PC..... I wanted to go SLI when I upgraded....runs newer games well and most online games... I hear that Vista has problems with SLI....I hope not!!! I run Flight Sim alot with no problems....

Currently I don't think it's worth it, since there aren't too many ground-breaking exclusive games at the time. Besides, most of the upcoming games are compatible with DirectX9, and can still run smoothly given the right hardware. Maybe in a couple of months or so it'll be worth it, and we'll get to see the full power of DirectX10, but right now, I'm liking my "old" rig I built back in '05. :)
