Title: D Drive will not recognize any disk in it
Post by: Blake on July 03, 2007, 04:04:07 PM
Ok so about a month ago I deleted a lot of files that I thought would be no need to me.  In the process I think I deleted my cd-rom driver  (I know I had deleted my sound driver and had to reinstall that via dell site).

So now everytime I insert a cd, go to my computer, and click on cd drive (d:) it says please insert a disk into drive d:.  It does this for any cd so I know it must be a problem with my cp.

My cd-rom drive is a dell HL-DT-ST CD-ROM GCR 8483B model.  My disk drive (I don't know if this is relavant) is a Maxtor 6Y080L0.

My system service tag is 2229D61.  It is a Dell Dimension 3000 running on windows XP.

Thanks please reply soon I really appreciate it.

Have you tried the driver reset tool?--->Here (http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/download.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&releaseid=R92578&SystemID=DIM_CEL_3000&servicetag=2229D61&os=WW1&osl=en&deviceid=9309&devlib=0&typecnt=0&vercnt=1&catid=-1&impid=-1&formatcnt=1&libid=25&fileid=120687)
