Firstly, anyone flashed BIOS? Is it recommended?
Also, is it possible to flash my BIOS so I'll be able to use ECC RAM, as atm I can't.
It's not that I really want the error correcting RAM in my machine, but I have a GB of it, and only 256MB of non parity RAM atm.
I don't wish to mix-and-match, just one or the other, and I got wondering if it was possible to update the BIOS (safely) to allow the use of ECC RAM.
I'm currently researching elsewhere (Google) but all input welcome, even if it is just a link to more info.
Thanks.

If you are not having problems with BIOS, don't flash it. As far as the different types of RAM, it depends on what the motherboard supports, not the BIOS. Though the BIOS allows timings to be changed, it you use RAM not supported by the motherboard, all is for naught.
