Title: Windows NT -- Why my words are deleted everytime I boot my computer ??
Post by: KW_WONG on July 18, 2007, 08:40:50 PM
Hi,

I type some words in the following file in Windows NT to add  path
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
However, my words disappear everytime I reboot/turn on my computer and I need to re-type the words again.
Could somebody tell me how to fix this problem ?  :)

Thanks very much.

What do you mean by "I type some words in the following file"
Are you modifying the contents of a file?
Renaming the file?
Please explain, and tell us what you are trying to do.

Hi,

I add some words inside the files. I didn't amend the content or rename the file. I just add some contents those existing words.
Actually, I am trying to add "host" to a URL and it is annoying to add those words everytime i reboot my computer.
Thanks very much for your help.

It's sounds like you have some protection installed that monitors and reset the hosts file. Some firewall, anti-virus and anti-spyware programs will do that. What kind of protection do you have installed?
