Title: Restart
Post by: Disabled01 on August 20, 2007, 03:43:43 PM
I have a one day old computer with Vista on it and no matter how I try to restart my computer, it won't. It goes through the logging off screen and all of that but all that happens is my monitor turns off but the actual pc stays on. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Now, I know its new and everything, but:

If you don't have any information saved, and if you haven't been able to really start messing around with it, I recommend that you redo the installation. It seem that computer manufacturers are making errors appear, not Windows. (For example: Dell was installing in-compatible software on their computers for quite a while, and it took them forever to fix it)

I would be returning that machine for a new one pronto...

:-\    Sounds like I got the shaft on this one. I can get it to restart occassionally if I manually press the button but that doesn't work all the time.

This can cause damage to the hard drive, and I wouldn't recommend it in case they decide to void your warranty for damage of this sort.
