This topic was dealt with in July; I have similar problem only my computer is a laptop.
I'm wondering if the suggested compressed air cleaning would be an option here.
Windows XP--Service Pak 2, 512 RAM, 1.8 GHz, Pentium 4, Satellite broadband.
Gaming slows, even stops at times. Now and then I'm booted off the game site completely. (typically pogo.com).
Thanx for any suggestions! Wandasue

Might possibly be an internet problem? Are you running off wireless or are you actually connected via cable?

We are connected via cabe---to a satellite dish. I appreciate your response!
P.S. I did attack this laptop w/ compressed air, as much as one is able to! We shall see...................) Wanda

Let us know how the compressed air solution turns out. Sometimes that's all it needs. :)

The compressed air solution didn't help. My husband was playing an online version of freecell last p.m. and at some point it kicked him totally out of the website. Otherwise, it would slow down and/or lock up on him.
Where is a real DECK of cards when ya need it?? Any more ideas would be appreciated. Wanda :-\

Hi! Most laptops have a fan somewhere...and are temp actuated....see if its working...this sounds like a possible heat problem...also does the laptop have air space under it when your playing? Good Luck..

Computer sits on wooden cabinet--so there is air circulation all around. I'm sure I hear the fan now and then................who knows???? It's got a mind of it's own, I guess. Quick note: when playing installed games like freecell, spider solitaire (those that come w/ computer), there is no slow down. Is there a difference w/ games online?? Thanx. Wanda
