Title: Vista not recognising its own install DVD
Post by: bsaff on August 21, 2007, 08:37:23 AM
Hi hopers

I'm trying to perform the double install upgrade trick with vista on a self built pc (spec below)

Vista will read from all other CDs and DVDs that I've tried apart from its own install DVD, just wondering if theres anything particularly different about the Vista DVD disk and whether theres anyway i can force it to read

Cheers

additional note to the above: i've already built several identical spec PCs (today) and not had as problem so i'm pretty sure its a hardware prob with the DVD drive, but the fact that it reads other dvds suggests possibly config issues, not sure what though. All suggestions warmly recieved. Ben

Could you give some more details on the problem please? Like when does the problem occur?
