Title: Transferring files to another computer
Post by: saint_hades on August 27, 2007, 12:50:41 PM
Hi,
What's the easiest way to transfer files across to another computer.
My friend said you can use an A to A usb wire, is that true. And if so do both the computers have to be on, with a monitor plugged in.
Thanks

A straight A to A usb cable will fry your USB ports...they do make them for this purpose however and are designed to do file transfers.
You will need to set up a network on at least one of the machines then add the other to the network.
Another option is a crossover network cable provided both machines have a NIC card.

A third and easy option would be to remove the HDD that needs to be copied and hook it up as a slave drive in the other machine....
