Title: How to uninstall a password protected program
Post by: 366647 on September 12, 2007, 12:48:45 PM
How do you uninstall a program that is password protected without using the password (my computer is really slow and i need to uninstall it but i don't remember the password at all)?

Edited for a more descriptive title - "HELP!!!!!!!!1" is not a good choice.  Calum.

Be more specific.

Which program are you trying to uninstall?

Are you actually able to get into Windows to do this, or does your computer give you a password on startup?

What version of Windows are you running?

Get these details and create comprehensible sentences, and come on back.

A couple more questions as well.  Is this a personal computer or a work computer?  Who put the password on there?  Should you be removing it?

I have the same issue as the original poster.
I had installed a Child Watch type program onto my computer a while back-it has since expired.  I have lost the password.  I contacted support, however they told me that they are not able to retrieve my password.
I am running Windows XP, and can start up my computer fine.  The only issue is that I need to install the program from my computer.
If anyone has an answer that would be fantastic.
(Even more fantastic if it was a free way) :)
Thanks!
