i just want to ask everyone here, anyone played 2008 yet?
What's the different between 2008 & 2007?
I'm sure the players updated to their latest transfer, but anything else?
How about the graphic?gameplay?is it still the same?
I want to know before i buy it.
Should i buy it?
-
what version are you referring to? PC, PS3 or Xbox 360 or some other system?
http://www.gamespot.com/search.html?type=11&stype=all&tag=search%3Bbutton&qs=fifa+2008&x=0&y=0
Go to that link and then click on the link that corresponds to the version you are interested in. You can get reviews and screenshots to see how it is.
-
i already take a look before this in internet, what i want are real experience gameplay comment by anyone here.By the way, i already bought it few hours ago. It's just another EA Games with different names...FIFA 08 :-\
For football fans, just hang on for Pro Evolution Soccer 2008
-
The graphics and physics always improve every year no matter what game it is otherwise there would be no point in releasing another title with a different year on it.
-
I don't know the difference between those two versions, but....finally I can see some people, who enjoy best sport in the world.....soccer, or football, as the rest of the world calls it..
WOW!!!
-

WOW!!!
I suppose you mean on this forum mainly, because roughly speaking 80% of the world likes soccer.
-
I mean in US, in general. They've been some changes in positive direction over last 10-15 years, but, since I came from Europe, I'm missing big games....can watch them on TV only.
-
You actually went to a lot of live games in Europe?
-
When I was younger (HS, college), I went to every single home game of my hometown team.
We traveled to national team games. I watched some live games in Germany, Sweden, and Austria. I never had a chance to go to England, or Italy (my dream), but I saw all kind of European teams while they were playing with my hometown team.
I went to number of games in US, too. Not the same, though. The atmosphere is much different. Lack of passion, I guess.
-
Broni, who is your hometown team?
What teams have you seen?
-
Originally, I'm from Cracow/Poland, and while still back in my old country, I saw Italian Parma, Dutch PSV Eindhoveen, Swedish FF Malmoe, Spanish FC Barcelona, Austria Vienna, Scottish Glasgow Rangers, bunch of Eastern European teams. I went to another city to see AS Roma (couple of times). I saw Juventus Torino. Some others. While in Germany, I went to see Bayern Munich, Hannover SV, Werder Bremen.
I do miss it!!!
-
Thats a mighty big list there.
-
Well, some nice memories, thats' for sure 8) 8) 8)
-
It's just a pity you didn't get to see Glasgow Celtic instead of the dark side of Glasgow :P
Is Wisła Kraków(sp?) your home team then?
That's where Celtic signed Maciej Żurawski from
-
Is Wisła Kraków(sp?) your home team then?
WOW! I'm impressed (including proper lettering)!
How do you know all this? Where do you live?
-
I'm from Glasgow. I'm a Glasgow Celtic fan...
I copied the spelling from wikipedia because I wasn't sure how to spell it properly, heh.
I only know this stuff since Glasgow Celtic signed Maciej from Wisła and Artur Boruc from Legia Warszawa. I know they were both pretty high profile players for their respective clubs before they left?
-
I'm from Glasgow. I'm a Glasgow Celtic fan...
This is coooooool, man!!!
Actually, I saw Celtic here in US, a year (?) ago.
They played friendly in San Jose, CA against either MLS All Stars, or US national team (I don't remember).
I used to go once in a while to San Jose Earthquakes games, but they moved to Houston couple of seasons ago, so I was left with nothing. They are talking about starting a new team here, maybe next season.
Surely MLS is not EPL, but at least something I can watch.
It must be crazy there between Celtic, and Rangers, huh?
Back in Krakow (Cracow) we had same thing between Wisla, and Cracovia. We call it "Holy War".
BTW, going to some UK live game was always one of my dreams. We have that TV channel here, where I can watch 2-3 EPL games every week, so it is some kind of substitute. It's much better here in US now, concerning some football on TV. When I came here 20 years ago, it was NOTHING to watch.
Hey, how about Beckham coming here to LA? It's like a joke to me.
-
Yeah it is pretty mental sometimes. There was an Old Firm (Celtic and Rangers) game on saturday there. Rangers won 3-0 :'(
Sometimes it gets really heated, people regularly get stabbed etc on the nights of these games when they've been in the pub afterwards. Some fans can't take some banter, othersgo a bit too far with it and some are just outright bigoted. Each set of supporters are as bad as each other (some will tell you the other side is worse though, heh)
Yeah I think we got beaten in they games last year... we played a couple games out there and one in Canada (Against Roma? Maybe that was 2 years ago, I forget.)
The whole Beckham thing is a complete joke for me. No-one who wants to play professional football for the love of the game would need to be paid that amount of money. Don't even start me on his wife haha.
-
Maybe, DB wants to stay close to his best friend, Tom Cruise, and they both attend Scientology Church....LOL
-
It wouldn't surprise me. He is only there for the money, attention and because he wants to try to make a career in Hollywood (Tom will help no doubt) because he has realised he hasn't got the desire to play football anymore.
It's a shame, because when he was on his game he was one of the best at what he does (granted, all he ever done was collect the ball, stop then cross the ball. And the occaisional free kick)
Ah well. Think it was more his wife that wanted the move there though, she's a bit of a media-*censored*. Can't stand the sight of either of them.
-
He is only there for the money
It's too bad, because I can't even imagine anyone with as much money, as he has, to go to LA, and play for Galaxy, where half of the team doesn't even know how to kick a ball correctly.
They even didn't make playoffs this season.
It's simply a shame.
Hey, how about Euro 2008?
My old home country has been doing pretty good, as well, as Scotland!!!
I can't even imagine Italy not being in. My best Italian friend is going nuts, already ??? ??? ???
-
My best Italian friend is going nuts, already
Heh, be sure to tell your friend that Scotland The Brave are coming for Italy! lol.
Nah, he can't seriously be worried that Italy won't make it?
As much as I want to get behind my country, which I will be, come match day... I really can't see Scotland beating Italy. Will most likely be Italy and France who go through.
-
This is what's left:
I assume Italy is gonna have 3 points with Faroe Islands, so there are couple possible scenarios...
1. France loses at Ukraine, and Scotland still needs 3 points with Italy, since France has better goal difference.
- Italy, and Scotland are in
2. France gets 1 point at Ukraine, Scotland needs 3 points
- Scotland, and France are in (France over Italy by goals difference)
3. France wins at Ukraine, Scotland gets 3 points
- France, and Scotland are in
Anyway, it looks like you need a win with Italy, and everything is yours, no matter what happens in other games.
It's gonna be interesting...
-
France has better goal difference
It's all changed now. It comes down to the head to head results before goal difference now. So if scotland were tied on points with France, we would be above them since our head to head is a 1-0 win in both our games with France.
I don't see Italy losing to Faroes at all. Our best hope is an upset in the Ukraine V France game... But, I can't see it. Will be in the pub shouting at the TV all game to spur Scotland on against Italy though. And either way, I'll have a few drinks heh
-
It comes down to the head to head results before goal difference now
I even don't know what I was thinking!!!
Anywho, the best scenario would be this:
Scotland gets at least 1 point with Italy, France loses, and then:
-you're happy
-my Italian friend is happy
-I'm happy, too, because I don't like French team (LOL)
I hope my home country won't screw anything up. They need just 1 win in 2 remaining games.
BTW...So far, we have 747 "vews" of our thread....Not bad...hehehe
-
I really hope Scotland qualify, it's been almost 10 years since we've been at a major tournament. I remember running home from school to catch the kick off of Scotland V Brazil in the opening game of World Cup 98 in France. Good times.
I don't like the French team either and my ex girlfriend is Italian, so I hope these 2 qualify.
747, not bad...
-
Poland used to have problems with Euro qualifying for many years.
They've been going to World Cup straight for many years, but they struggled in Euro.
Who knows, if countries like Greece win it....LOL
-
Hopefully Poland & Scotland both make it.
Would be nice to see, even only if to see Artur Boruc in another major tournament.

I just checked the newest FIFA ranking, and I knew Argentina went back to #1, but I was surprised by really high Scottish position.
Btw...I watched Argentina during latest South America Cup, and I didn't like what I saw. I always liked Argentinian football, though.
1 Argentina
2 Brazil
3 Italy
4 France
5 Germany
6 Spain
7 The Netherlands
8 Portugal
9 Czech Republic
10 Croatia
11 England
12 Romania
13 Scotland
14 Greece
15 Mexico
16 Russia
17 Uruguay
18 USA
19 Nigeria
20 Poland
21 Norway
22 Ukraine
23 Cameroon
24 Sweden
25 Colombia
-
Yeah I think this is one of the highest positions we've been at for quite some time. We've had some decent results lately and hopefully can keep it going.
I'd love to see Scotland getting above England in the world rankings, even if it was temporary... Just to rub it in, I hate how most english football fans I know/met/spoke to online look down their noses at the Scottish league and national team.
-
I really like to watch EPL games, and to me, it's the most exciting league in the world, but English national team, except for 1966 championship, never did too good. I even don't know how they are so high on the list.
Interesting chart from here:
http://www.fifa.com/associations/association=sco/ranking/gender=m/index.html
(http://209.85.48.8/228/109/upload/p3344245.gif)
BTW...we just passed 1,000 views mark....hehehehe
-
For me, the most exciting league in the world has got to be the Spanish league.
How many leagues in the world can have 4 teams in with a realistic chance of winning the league with 2 games to go? The spanish league is far superior IMO.
The EPL gets wayyyyy too much money, I mean, the team finishing last int he league this season is getting something in the region of £30,000,000! For finishing last! That's madness... In the SPL, the champions don't even get anywhere near that.
-
One thing I like about EPL is the fact, that teams are more equal. Even top teams, playing bottom of the table teams, can never be sure of victory.
That's what exciting to me, but...you know, everyone has own favorities.
On the other news, Brasil was just chosen to hold 2016 championship. At least, I won't have to wake up in the middle of the night to watch some game (I hate to watch recorded games).
-
Exactly, each to their own.
I prefer the silky stuff you see week in week out in the Spanish league. But I also like the physical aspect of the EPL (although most of the EPL are more gifted than the standard of the SPL, I imagine there wouldn't be many of the EPL players who could handle the physical game up here in Scotland. They'd be on the ground fixing their tights more often than not)
Who do you think will win the next European Championship? I can't see past Italy again.
-
My predictions are as good, as reading a crystal ball.
For some reason European Championship is much less predictable, then World Championship.
If Greece was able to win it in 2004, I feel like I know nothing about football...hehehehe
-
Heh, I know what you mean...
Some weekends I like to go put some money on the football results. I very rarely win anything, yet I see people who know nothing (literally) about football and win quite a lot.
I could be persuaded into putting some money on Italy for the European Championship... IF they qualify hahaha.
-
IF they qualify hahaha
Don't even say that. I don't want to see my good friend committing a suicide. You know how Italians are crazy about football...LOL.
Here in California, I can't bet, unless I put some money up, while visiting neighbouring Nevada.
Back in my old country, I used to bet once in a while on Polish league, but I've never won anything.
As you said, some morons will win, but you won't....hehehehe.
I've heard Celtic lost in Scottish Cup to some lesser team?
-
Thats right, we lost 2-0 to a team called Hearts.
I wouldn't call them a lesser team, as such... Hearts could beat either one of the Old Firm on their day but lately they have been playing very VERY poorly which is why it came as a bit of a shock (Celtic recently beat Hearts 5-0 in the league)
I don't really mind though (as long as Rangers don't end up winning that cup, heh) We have more important things to worry about just now like the game with Benfica tomorrow... Should be a nervy 90minutes (again! :o)
-
Sorry for being late here, but I had computer problem...brand new HD shot.
How did you do against Benfica?
-
The game isn't until later tonight... If I get the time I'll post back and let you know how it went and, hopefully, I'll be in a great mood ;D
-
Who do they have in a group besides Benfica.
Talking about Benfica...I don't know how old you're, but remember Eusebio? It was one of my favorite players. I still remember some quarterfinal (I guess) in a World Cup, I think it was 1966 in England, where Portugal played North Korea. Portugal won 5:3, maybe 5:4, and Eusebio got 3 goals.
-
You must be happy...
Celtic - Benfica 1:0
Congratulations!!!
-
Yeah!! That was a great result.
I don't remember Eusebio, but I know who he is. Magnificent player. When Celtic played Benfica in the 60's after we won the European Cup, one of out players, Jimmy Johnstone (Jinky - have you heard of him?) tried to convince Eusebio to sign for Celtic. He couldn't convince him to leave his boyhood heroes though. They 2 were friends for a while after they played. Jinky is probably the most famous Celtic player of all time.
-
That's interesting story.
Johnstone? It definitely rings a bell. Was he a striker?
-
He (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jimmy_Johnstone) was a winger. I'm sure if you travel over to youtube, someone will have some videos of him up somewhere.
The guy could go past defenders like they weren't even there. In some interviews with some of his team mates there have been a few that have said when they were starting to get tired they used to just give him the ball so they could get a rest because he basically terrorised defenders who couldn't get the ball off of him.
-
I just went to youtube, and there is a plenty of videos of him.
Here is the clip from that Portugal - N. Korea game. I didn't remember, that Korea was up 3:0, and Eusebio actually had 4 goals:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=WYBj_YA9i6s
-
Hi Broni...
I'm guessing your friend was happy with the result? lol.
I, for one, am not... Some ridiculous decisions from the officials, but each of them could have went either way (except for one in particular, right at the end haha) so can't have too many complaints. Overall, it was a great game to watch and, from my perspective, it was great to see Scotland playing the way they did at times.
-
I feel sorry, Scotland didn't go through...My old country is in, though, by beating Belgium 2:0. They still have one game left, and it's still important for further group seedings..
-
I don't feel bad anymore. It hurt, but it's over with. On the bright side, we WILL be going to South Africa 2010, heh.
Yeah I seen that result... Smolarek getting the 2 goals. He's a good player, used to play for Borussia Dortmund? Think he moved to a Spanish club though, can't quite remember.
-
Remember, there is always next time, and next time in 2012 it'll be held in Poland/Ukraine...
-
WOW!!! England is out, too!!!! For the first time since 1984....Russians are in!
