Title: ASUS P2B POST, memory count repeats
Post by: MRA on October 02, 2007, 04:55:21 PM
ASUS P2B, PC100 = 384. Hard drive crash. New HD. Win XP Home install with updates complete. During POST memory count repeats. Can bypass by "Skipping" memory. Please advise.

It's a BIOS setting that checks memory at POST...not sure where it is for your configuration, but you may want to turn this feature off within your BIOS settings.

Hello,  That particular BIOS feature is named "Quick Power On Self Test".  It must have changed to DISABLE when my friend tinkered with the BIOS settings. I set it to ENABLED and all is well now.

I thank you for reminding me to check the BIOS settings.

That's right!  Couldn't remember to save my life...

Glad you found it...

You're welcome...
