Title: info on Epson Perfection 4490 Photo scanner
Post by: shooglehope on October 03, 2007, 11:53:38 AM
HI,  I have above named scanner; it works good (although a bit slow)--I'm happy with it.
I would like to know how to contact Epson about extending the negative film function.  I need to scan some odd sized negatives but the scanning firmware (I guess) it just set up for the frames supplied with the scanner--not large enough for an old 4" x 6" negative.
I have tried many things to get it to scan this size, even made up a black sheet with the 4 x 6 hole cut in it to fit the negative, but of course it will only scan the dimensions that the program offers, and maintains a certain aspect ratio that screws things up!
I suspect that it is probably impossible but it's worth a try.
