I just installed Sygate Personal Firewall.
When I visit certain websites, Sygate Firewall blocks Firefox from accessing the internet.
Now I have Connection Timeouts. I exited SPF and turned Windows Firewall back on, but I still have the problem!
Anyone who had this problem and managed to fix it?
By the way, the website that was blocked is the document showing me how to unblock it ;D >:(
Thank you in advance.

Did you uninstall Sygate? If not, it still may have some services running.
-
Did you click OK when Sygate asked you if it should allow Firefox to access the internet?
You would also have to check the box to tell Sygate to 'remember the setting'.
Same goes for email, IMs, FTP, or anything else that needs to access the net including programs wanting to update.
You only have to tell Sygate once, it has a good memory. ;)

Yes, I click 'OK' and 'Remember this setting'.
But after 5 seconds or something like that it just said "Sygate has blocked FIREFOX.EXE".
I remember an article that said Firefox uses ICMP 3 and 4, but Sygate blocks it.

I don't have Firefox so I can't comment on that sorry.
Edit: If you right click on the Sygate Icon in the taskbar and select "Applictions' you will see what's going on.

The web page is blocked in IE too - with both firewalls off!

Maybe the page is down...
Could you give us a link?

I think this is it:

That link wont work.
The Sygate forums are down since Sygate has been bought up by Symantec.
In other words it's dead to me too.

Btw if you need to read the post you can do that here (http://web.archive.org/web/20070218220658/http://forums.sygate.com/vb/showthread.php?s=a6d2faf0bbc90ca9a59d209ecfbcc5c5&threadid=12518).

yup, if you just type in www.sygate.com (the original sygate firewall website link), it'll simply get redirected to symantec/norton's official site.

Thank you!
Firefox is working properly now.
I might contact Mozilla and report that the link is broken.
Once again, thank you
