So what does everyone here think about the "Geek Squad"???
What are your experiences with them/it? I'd love to hear them.

Have no experience of Geek Squad. You will find lots of comments both for and against on the WWW. You pays your money and takes your choice.

The average computer user who doesn't know much about their computer will call an outfit like the Geek Squad to help them. Apparently there are many such people, as the company is booming. It is also a testament to the usability problems of personal computers these days.
Usually you can find remedies for computer problems on-line, if you know how to search and what to look for. Geek Squad can definitely help you, but for a high price. That may be worth it if you're in a rush or don't have the fortitude to find out a solution yourself.
Before someone buys a computer, they really should learn the basics so they a) know what computer to buy, b) know what options they need, c) know how to prepare the computer for use (e.g. firewall and anti-virus software installed and functioning), and d) understand how to maintain the computer (e.g. disk defragmentation, temporary file deletion, software updates, hard disk file organization, etc.).
Incidentally, I had a computer problem (self induced) and got the right advice to help me correct it here at Computer Hope. Judging by a number of knowledgeable people I've seen on this forum, it's a great place to get computer help! :D

I have honestly never thought about the Geek Squad.
The Geek Squad is a subsidiary of the Best Buy Company.

All I know about them, they were downloading X-rated materials from customers computers, here in Bay Area.

Which begs the question: If they would copy that from customers computers, what else were it to be found, would they copy?
