Title: Flashing black lines

Sup Forum gurus. So here is the issue. Every now and then my video will lag out and black lines will flash across my monitor every few seconds. Im not quite sure what is going on but i figured id drop in and see what you guys think.  Here are my specs:

Windows XP Pro SP2
Intel Pentium D 2.8ghz dual core
2gb DDR2 ram
ATI Radeon X1650 256mb of GDDR3 ram
I use NOD32, Adaware 2007 and Zonealarm (Zonealarm more than the other 2)

Any other specs you need just let me know..glad to post em.

Huh. Strange issue. The first thing that came to my mind is potential monitor issue, but if it's lagging out at the same time I'd lean more towards graphics card related issue.

Have you tried getting the latest drivers for your card?

Also in Device Manager do you have any conflicts or errors showing (yellow exclamation marks / red x's)?

Also just to be on the save side check your connections, make sure the connection going from your monitor to your video card is secure.

my video card video silly lol. Sorry i didnt make it clearer. i just got the latest video card drivers for my model. Havent installed em yet..just got home from watchin Saw 4. Ill get to it in the AM and keep you posted on anything. For now my bed calls. Gnight

I asked what kind of video are you watching, which causes lagging?

BTW...How was "Saw IV"? I'm gonna see it today.

Saw IV was freakin awesome. Im ready for Saw V now lol. The end was just as twisted as the beginning.  I installed new drivers for my card and the black lines thus far arent showing up. And to answer ur question the video lag i got was in-game and during regular computer use (surfing the net, chatting etc.) Ill keep ya posted if the lines return.

I didn't like it. So much of going back, and forth, that at some point, I lost track.
My 16 years old son didn't like it, either.
We both agreed, that 1st was the best one, then 2nd was pretty good, and 3rd, and 4th - no.

BTW - I'm glad your video problem seems to be fixed for now 8)

Eh, everyones a critic lol. Im just wondering how and if Saw 5 is a possibility with the ending we had with 4. Anyhow..its day 2 1/2 since drivers were updated and no lines..so unless something totally unexpected happens, my problem is fixed...so this thread can be closed i imagine.  thanx again
