Title: Clicking to Open gets SEARCH instead of OPEN

For some unknown reason, when I try to open documents via doubleclicking icons on the desktop OR in the file manager [windows explorer], it opens the SEARCH box instead of opening the document!!!  SO, I end up going to right click and OPEN instead.

How do I fix this???

Go to Start/Run and type in  regsvr32 /i shell32.dll and hit Enter...
Re-boot.
