Title: video card needed for 26 pin video port - help
Post by: Zatherran on November 19, 2007, 07:03:45 AM
I have a Dell Dimension xps t600r. born 1999.  660 mhz penti 3 processor.
12g hard drive ( 6 left).  she has a VIP II 26 pin video port now holding a
16 mb ati rage 128 pro video card.

awsome card. not one problem in the almost 10 years i have had her.
however with the new tech of monitors, bought a wide screen 19 samsung and
can not achieve the resolution of 1440 i need.  so images are stretched. and even though the resolution is not pefect, the color and action is perfect with the current card.

looking for a video card that will fit the slot in the mother board.
its a three section slot.
bought a card, but doesnt fit.

just want to do photo elements web and email. nothing fancy or grand.
no games.

does anyone know where i can find a card that will fit the mother board.

i did look at new computers but this one runs perfect for what i do.

any help would be great.

Based on what I read at http://www.pcworld.com/article/id,25029/article.html (http://www.pcworld.com/article/id,25029/article.html), you have 3 PCI slots and an ISA slot.  Apparently, you have no AGP slot.  So, you're limited to PCI video cards.  Take a look at:

Any card there over $30 will probably serve your purposes just fine.
