Title: Paint program
Post by: ianbell on December 03, 2007, 10:08:05 PM
What do you folks recommend as the best FREE paint program - don't use one very often but I would like to edit a picture or two once in a while -  I would really like a program with a clone feature if any of the freeware has such a thing?

Same thing as 'gimp' w2000 and up - any w9x programs you know of?
Thanks, guys.

Oh, in that case Photobie won't work for you either.

There's PhotoPlus 6 (http://www.freeserifsoftware.com/software/PhotoPlus/default.asp), which is free as well, although the newer PhotoPlus 8 isn't, but it's only $10.

Pixia 3.3b was the last version they made that worked in Win98 (if I remember right). It can be downloaded from here (http://park18.wakwak.com/~pixia/download.htm). Make sure you're getting the 3.3 version and not the new 4.1 version, which doesn't work on Windows 98.

I've never heard of a clone feature in photo software.  What would be the purpose of it?
