We are currently backing up over 400 gigs of data to disk. I have been looking into alternative backup systems that dont require tapes. I really would like a *CDP system but after intial quotes show that for my system I would need to spend over 30K for the appliances and needed software, I figured I would just ask if anyone has a cheaper alternative to a CDP style system.
*Please just do a google search for continous data protection to understand it.

SyncBack...
I only use the Free solution but the paid version is built for enterprise networks from what i gather...
Another one to investigate would be Acronis True Image Server Edition...not cheap but it may be worth it for your needs.

I appreciate it, I am looking into both and am literally talking to Acronis. Still wondering if anyone has/used a CDP system and if so, what were their thoughts.
