Hey everyone, I am running win XP sp2. when I try to boot, I get a popup message after the XP load screen with the moving bar that says
Services.exe - Unable to locate componet
This application has failed to start because MSVCP60.dll was not found
Re-installing the application may fix this problem.
It then gives me the option to push "OK" but then nothing happens, the screen just stays black with the mouse pointer which is still able to move but nothing else happens. This happens even when trying to load into safe mode. The good newsis that on another pc I did a google search and found a website that I was able to download the missing .dll file from, and I can burn it to a disc, but with windows not boting on my pc I do not have a clue hoe to install the .dll file in it's proper location.
Any help would be great.

Try booting from the XP cd (if you have one). That should give you a repair option.
If you don't have a CD go here:
http://www.bootdisk.com/bootdisk.htm
And DL a bootdisk that you can use.
When booting select that you want to boot with CD ROM support.
Once booted from the bootdisk, you'll see the DOS prompt (A:\)
And now you can copy that DLL from the CD to the correct directory, the system32 folder under Windows
Once you copied it, remove the bootdisk and restart the pc.
