Title: Internet Explorer 6 isn't working

Hi,
My friend has Internet Explorer 6, and it isn't letting him go on it.

it comes up with this message

it started doing it yesterday, around 3ish

Also, my friend says he's got wireless and every other computer is working fine

We'll need alot more info on the machine, OS and what happened prior to this to prevent guesswork...

Well the computer has

1Gb of Ram

175 gb hard drive

intel duo core processor

and it stopped working just after his mum had been checking her Emails

What version of Windows ?
Any firewall installed ?
Has he tried to update to ver. 7 ?
What type of internet connection ?

windows xp professional

AVG, so I think he means he has the windows firewall

wireless 8mb download, BT broadband

and on the Internet Explore website it says he doesn't have the right service pack to install Internet 7

Ps FireFox's works on his computer

Without SP2 on that machine he won't be able to repair/re-install IE...
Sounds like an iffy XP installation to me.

Have him run FireFox until he can get legit.

Nope, he didn't built this computer

inhose computing he brought it from (there some shop in town), now called next gen computing

And he has SP 2.

Window update doesn't install Internet 7, cause it never show's up on it.

And he has Window Media Player 11

MS is getting way better at blocking these things is all i can say...

But what does have to do with his computer.

If it was a 'iffy XP installation' what can he do about it?
