Title: my computer logs off randomly

ok some one please help me just recently my computer has been logging me off randomly and then later like 20 minets later it will start itself up at random i have no idea whats wrong or how to fix it if used system recovery and done a viruse scan nither has shown any results  please any feedback will be appreciated

ok well im using microsoft windows xp home edition  theres no warning my computer just automaticly goes the the blue "windows is logging off screen"  my computer is a compaq presario, 2.8 ghz intel celeron prosessor 512 sdr ram but i added an additopnal 512 and 120 gb hard drive and it started on monday and i did nothing abnormal on monday except my computer was on a little bit longer than usual

How long does it take before it starts logging off?
Will it do same thing in Safe Mode?
