I needed to know how much of a diferance it would make if i added igb of ram to my computer i only have 512mb and alot of people said it would make my comp run faster if i put in more ram could anyone tell me what things would run faster?

Full system specs are needed. Can't tell you much without knowing what you're putting the RAM into.

Putting more memory in won't necessarily make your computer faster. It depends on what operating system and other hardware is involved. You need to be more specific.

If you've got a really low end video card, adding more RAM won't help gaming.
If you've got a really slow processor, adding more RAM won't make the processor go faster.

ok i have an amd athalon  processer nvdia gforce 5200 and im running windows xp

Still gonna have to be more specific than that. Give the make and model number of all of your hardware, the exact version of XP you're using (Home, Pro, etc.) and what are you trying to accomplish by adding more RAM? Making games faster? Windows? Start up? Like I said previously, you need to be more specific. Tell everything.

to be honest, yes it will make the pc faster, but quaxo have a good point, we need to check the hardware & wait, before you buy a RAM remember to travel to www.crucial.com to check what kind of RAM are suitable for you computer.

well im not sure all the make and model #'s on it because i asnt the one who first built it all i can tell you is that im running xp home and i want it to go fatser for mainly video editing and maybe some games
