That's it.
Any known brand: Belkin, Linksys, Netgear, D-Link...will do.
-
I just got a belkin router but i need to know how to make it encrypted or safer than it is now cause i don't think it has anything to stop like neighbors from getting on the network
-
1. Open a Web Browser
2. In the address bar type http://192.168.2.1 (http://192.168.2.1)
3. Click on Security in the left hand column under Wireless
4. Click Submit
5. Select WPA-PSK (no server) from the Security Mode section
6. Enter your Pre-shared Key (your choice)
Note: You can mask your Pre-shared Key by selecting Obscure PSK
7. Click on Apply Changes

well the other computer is in another part of the house and the guy who sold it to me said i needed the router and a usb network adapter to the computer i wanted to have wireless , so now i have one wired computer that the router is plugged into and the other computer i can't get the internet on.
-
Did you install all software for usb network adapter?
-
yeah but it's not for vista so i downloaded the vista beta from the site and that won't work either
-
Well, you'll have to go back to the store, and exchange it for Vista compatible network adapter.
-
there are non for the router i bought so i have to call tech support or try and find a driver that works
-
well now i got the driver that works but it's all screwy and still no internet
-
there are non for the router i bought
You need Vista compatible network adapter, not a router.
-
it's all good i fianlly got the rite driver and know it works and btw is the encryption the only way to keep my networ safe or is there other steps because when im on my network i can see alot of other people's networks and they don't have a lock pad next to there network,so how could i be 100% sure that im locked an no one can get in?
