Title: turn off reboot on critical system error vista
Post by: unlovedwarrior on January 08, 2008, 01:22:36 AM
ok i got gametap and when i try to play civ 4 it always reboots on critical system (or thats what the bosd says or something to that effect)/ memory bump

i used memtest 86 and tested my memory several times.

i thought i had it fixed by turning off everything i don't need but when i restarted my computer it started again.

how do you turn this off i tried googling it but it didn't help

What exactly are you trying to turn off?
What is the exact error message on the blue screen?
What are you full system specs?

You need to make a more complete post if we're to be able to help :-\

000008e is a hardware incompatibility issue and or an incorrect driver.
Are you running an nVidia vid card by chance ? ?
If so you may have the wrong driver installed for that card.

From my crystal ball...

 ;)

MS Knowledge Base.

P.S. It probably is the wrong driver. Revert back to the ones that shipped with the card...i think you'll be pleasantly surprised.
With drivers newer is not always better.
