Title: A / V input ?
Post by: mtnbkr01201 on January 21, 2008, 07:44:41 PM
I know you can add a A / V out card to your PC, or audio input, but if I wanted to go from my VCR into my computer ( to record onto DVD ), is there a card I can add, if so, what would it be called so I can look for it online ?.
Thank you for your time and efforts.
William

Hi again
The card when installed, my computer does not recognize the fact that it's plugged into one of the PCI slots, when I install the driver for it, my Dell tells me to first install the Intervideo DVR 3 card, now I have three slots, and have tried it in all three, I have reseated it multiple times, and have ALWAYS used an anti-static cord.
Would anyone have a little more of a clue then I. ???

Intervideo DVR 3 card - is it the name of your card?

Maybe, you need to install driver, first. I can see, there was manual included.

I'll take the card out, and see what happens.
BTW thank you for all your help.

I took the card out, fired up the computer, tried to load the driver, and again it told me to install the card first, so I put it back in, started loading the driver and once again, no go, it may simply boil down to it being a bad card.

I'm little bit confused here.
As I can read here: http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite/us/en/Product/1180016477574, Intervideo DVR 3 is a software made by Corel, which uses TV card like yours.
Do you have CD with the above program?

Yes I do have the CD for this card, though I don't have an instruction booklet, there is a userguide on the CD, also 'Install driver' - install remote', and 'Install application'.

What I'm asking is, if on that CD you have Intervideo DVR 3 software made by Corel

Can you try that card on another computer?

No, my only other computer is my lap top, unless a friend of mine with the same type of computer will let me install it in his, he also has a Dell.
BTW, installing a WDM driver didn't help at all.

Try your friend computer, if possible, then. Otherwise, we won't know, if there is anything wrong with the card itself.

Well Broni my friend, after all the problems with that capture card, all the downloads, patches, and all the help you offered, was all for nothing, I just sent it back today, it was dead.
I'd like to thank you for all you did in trying to help me with it, I will be getting another one, and I'll let you know what happens with that card, who knows, it might become a Frisbee.  :o

Well, if you're not getting any problem with a refund, we can call it happy ending.
