I pinned an item to the start menu in windows xp and somehow the link information in the properties dialog is missing and I can't delete the item to replace it with a new link.
It a brand new computer, with a fresh install of xp, office 2003, and wonderware software. It was only connected to the internet to download os updates.
Anyone have any ideas for how to get rid of it? If I can't get rid of it, I'll have to reinstall, as it is going to an end user... :-\

Don't you see 'remove from this list' when you right click the item?
-
Well, that is the obvious solution, but I've tried that.... several times. Even tried rebooting and trying it again to no avail.
Anyone know where the registry entries are for pinned start menu items?

Is the taskbar unlocked ? ?

Yes, it is the obvious solution but you didn't mention it.
And you still didn't answer the question.

The taskbar is locked, but I can unpin/delete other items normally, so I sort of doubt it would make a difference. I'll give it a try nonetheless.
