Title: problems running 98

whenever i try to run an application from a desktop shortcut or from the programs menu, nothing happens apart form a small balck 'DOS - like' box flashes up briefly. Anyone know the problem/cause/solution? cheers

 ???don't know much but if i get problems with win 98 i just reinstall it!

I think it might b memory problem.

can u check ur memory resources when u start ur PC, before the problem and after the problem.

there are some resources monitoring program in Accessories -> system tools, or may can try system properties and see if memory is ok.

Also do a check for viruses. If this doesnt turn anything up, reinstall windows and iff you are still experiencing the probel is may be somthing hardware related such as memory as sky mentioned.
