Title: Athlon xp 1800+ is underclocked
Post by: mikepaul42 on April 15, 2008, 08:16:26 AM
I have an Ecs L7VMM2 motherboard, with an Athlon Xp 1800+ , 2 128 pc266 sdram.
when i first assembled my cpu back in 2002, with the default settings of the board and jumper settings, my pc was running at a 1533 mhz clockspeed, which is the normal speed for my processor.  however lately, i've noticed my pc slowing down.  I've noticed during post that my processor is clocked at 733mhz.  I doubled checked my processor info. on my pc and it was really running at 733mhz.

I've tried resetting my jumper setting to 100mhz and 133mhz including the bios, and still the same result, except that in a 100mhz, i was clocked at 550mhz or something.....

what could be the main cause of this problem....I'd appreciate immediate reply to this....Thanks in advance
