Title: HP Scanjet
Post by: elgnarc on April 18, 2008, 03:56:24 AM
I'm having trouble using my HP Scanjet 2400. In photo made it only copies 1/2 the photo. It's very slow. In  scan to Word, lamp tries to warm up, eventually says there's a fault. in straight scan mode it just does not work.
It's about 2 or 3 years old. I use Windows XP.
I've tried uninstalling and then uninstalling, no effect.
Is it terminal?

Can you provide more information?  See here (http://www.computerhope.com/forum/index.php/topic,33586.0.html)

It would be helpful to know the "exact" messages you see when the scan functions fail.  Anything like these Error messages (http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SupportTaskIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&taskId=110&prodSeriesId=297429&prodTypeId=15179&supportTaskId=22644).

What is make/model number of computer if "brand name", otherwise make/model number of motherboard?

How much physical memory does the computer have?

Are you using the latest software and/or drivers for the Scanjet?  From Microsoft or HP?

Did the Scanjet 2400 ever work well on this computer and operating system?

What interface are you using and how/where is it connected to the computer?  USB 1.1, USB 2.0, something else?

Are you using the interface cable that came with the Scanjet?

Is there a lot of other software loaded and/or running in memory while you're attempting these scan functions?

Do you have Internet Explorer 7 installed?
